Located near the elevators of the Central Library, the Current Collection is a browsing area filled with bestsellers, popular fiction and an assortment of new nonfiction titles.
The collection features African American literature.
Works include American, British and World novels and short stories that are classical and contemporary, literary and popular, in English and English translation. This collection also includes large print fiction books.
Compiles materials in more than 40 languages and all Dewey classes, with emphasis on fiction and 800s, representing the cultures and essential literatures of the countries in which the languages are spoken. Materials from this collection are distributed to branch libraries on a rotating basis. Also includes instruction in over 80 languages other than English, as well as periodicals in many languages.
Spans all aspects of language study, poetry, drama, essays, and literary criticism, in English and English translation.
